When You’re Out of Cash, Times Get Desperate

If you are in college or ever have been, you probably know how it feels to be broke. You hold a crappy job that pays you next to nothing and when you finally get some free time to spend with friends, you’re broke. It can be even worse when you need money for something important such as a car repair, tuition, books, or even food and you have no cash.

Where do you turn? Credit cards seem like the easy way out. Whenever you need cash quickly, you can use your card. As long as you at least pay the minimum balance every month, you’re okay. The problem is, as a college student, your limited cash might cause you to skimp on your payments.

Credit Cards don’t have to be Deadly to all College Students

It is possible to use credit cards for college students and not end up in credit card debt. You could even end up saving money with the card. The trick is to budget your money.

Don’t use the credit card as a way to have cash when you don’t have any. Use it as a way to get cash back. Use your card whenever you have to buy something, but only by what you know you can afford. Make sure you have cash to back it up. If you do this, you will never have to miss a payment, and you will be able to pay it in full. This way, you will not have to pay a penny, as long as theirs no annual fees, and you still get the rewards whether it be redeemable points or cash back.
